Sunday Morning Dump: Random Thoughts Edition (Again)
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to get stock tips or have investing ideas delivered to your email. I'm also on The Twitter. Thanks for visiting!
I’m too lazy to make a theme for this week’s dump, so you’re going to get a bunch of random thoughts. First of all, in case any of you actually care, I’m on vacation from the 15th to 25th of September, so I probably won’t be too quick to respond to any emails/comments/tweets/pics of my hot female readers in their underwear. If you’re a blogger who’s looking to appear on the greatest blog in the history of all time, this would probably be a good time to hit me up with a guest post. There probably won’t be a link dump next week either. Oh, dry your tears little one. It’ll be okay.
WHO’S READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!?!?!?!?!?!? I could take it or leave it, but I know a few of you are a little excited about it. I’d tell you all about my fantasy team but nobody likes that guy, so I won’t bother. I’m going to watch a CFL game with a buddy on Friday which I’m looking forward to even though Ticketmaster charged me $2.50 to print out my own damn tickets. I hate Ticketmaster more than I hate The Big Bang Theory. And that show is worse than abortions laced with meth.
Am I the only one who finds it delightfully ironic that a bunch of finance bloggers (who constantly write about not spending money) cap off their big conference with a giant money wasting party?
Song I Like And Therefore You Should Too
I was discussing Weezer with a certain former PF blogger yesterday, when she pointed out how little she knew about music by saying this song wasn’t any good.
COME ON. It’s Weezer, in a music video, hanging out with a bunch of cute animals. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Simpsons Quote
Lionel Hutz: Mr. Simpson, don’t you worry. I watched Matlock in the bar last night. The sound wasn’t on, but I think I got the gist of it.
Gambling Is Fun
Thanks to stupid Atlanta coming back and beating the stupid Phillies, I only went 1-2 last week. I do want to point out that I’m like 6-1 betting against Houston. THIS STRATEGY IS GENIUS AND SO AM I.
Besides the obvious bet against Houston, (I haven’t even checked who they’re playing) I’m going to go with the NFL. I’m taking New England minus the 6 points against Tennessee, led mostly by Tom Brady’s dreaminess. I’m also going with the Chiefs to cover the plus 3 against the Falcons. I think the Chiefs may surprise a few teams this year. I have zero evidence to back up this claim, kinda when I do stock analyses.
Overall record: 57-72-3
A Post You Might Have Missed
I should really get some sort of random post plugin, letting it do the dirty work of picking an old post for your eyeball enjoyment. My laziness knows no bounds.
On Wednesday, I shared with you all a small snippet into my financial situation. Now go read what I did as a youngin’ to build the foundation for getting there.
Nelson’s So Funny
I enjoy it when certain PF bloggers follow me on Twitter and then unfollow a week later when I don’t follow their lame-ass feed. Nope, can’t say I’m interested in a Twitter account that does nothing but promote your fellow Yakezie members’ posts. Good try though.
Sorry I’m late. I just got here.

The More You Know
Author A.J. Jacobs decided to read the entire encyclopedia and chronicle it in a book, called The Know-It-All. But that was back in 2005. Do you guys think somebody else is going through Wikipedia alphabetically and writing a book about it? I would hope not.
Unity is a feature-length educational documentary scheduled for release November 30, 2012. The film is written and directed by Shaun Monson, who also wrote and directed the film Earthlings. UNITY is a film for all who hunger for a deeper meaning to existence, and a more unified way of living with one another, with all expressions of life. Just imagine a world that didn’t rely on opposites (us/them, rich/poor, black/white, gay/straight, human/animal, etc.), but rather a world that perceived only wholeness. UNITY presents the notion of a world in which we are all equally valued, even though we are not the same: Human, Animal or Tree.
Unity sounds like the worst movie ever. I’m not even exaggerating for comedic effect like I’ve been known to do. If you see that movie, don’t bother coming back to the blog. Oh, I’ll know.
Dirty Word In Words With Friends
Reader Joelaw pointed out to me that he tried to play ‘douches’, but the table wouldn’t cooperate. I’m giving it an honorary dirty word.
If you want to play me, my user is ‘nelsmi’. It will be greater than killing Osama.
Babe Loosely Related To Finance
On like Thursday I remember coming up with this week’s special lady and telling myself to remember who it was. Do I remember? Nope. Nice work, brain.

I humbly apologize for this unforgivable sin and present this hot anonymous Tampa Bay Bucs cheerleader in exchange for forgiveness. The hooker boots are back and it’s about time.
Time For Links
The number of starred items in Google Reader were a little light this week. Either I was a tough judge or everybody brought their B game. But let’s still do it.
JT McGee consistently delivers content that’s interesting, smart and entertaining. This week is no exception, as he explains why the word because could change your life.
I used to think Control Your Cash were the biggest jerks in the PF-o-net. Now I know it’s Dave from 6400PF. The problem is, at least for the people who he skewers, that he’s right. Go check out his piece on why your net worth matters. Go for the sound financial advice, stay for when he makes fun of other people’s bad financial choices.
Boomer and Echo think you should go to a pawn shop to buy stuff. I once got a Bose ipod dock for $45 with a free ipod thrown in from a pawn shop. They give the guy $25 for the whole package. I am a consumer genius.
That’s all I got this week. Step up your game, everyone.
Carnivals
I was in the Carnival of Wealth. How about that?
Have a good week everyone.
